Tesamorlin 20
Tesamorelin (brand name Egrifta) is a synthetic Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH) analogue consisting of 44 amino acids.
It is engineered with a hexenoyl moiety attached to the N-terminus of human GHRH, making it significantly more resistant to rapid enzymatic degradation by dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) compared to natural GHRH.
Primary Key Mechanisms
Β Pulsatile GH Secretion: Tesamorelin binds directly to GHRH receptors on somatotroph cells in the anterior pituitary gland, triggering the synthesis and pulsatile release of endogenous Growth Hormone (GH) without shutting down natural pituitary function.
Β Upregulation of IGF-1: Increased GH prompts the liver and peripheral tissues to produce Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), driving metabolic signaling, cellular repair, and protein synthesis.
Β Targeted Visceral Lipolysis: Tesamorelin selectively stimulates lipolysis (fat breakdown) in visceral adipose tissue (VAT)βthe deep, dangerous abdominal fat surrounding internal organsβwith minimal effect on subcutaneous fat.
Β Metabolic & Lipid Modulation: By reducing visceral fat depots, it improves systemic lipid profiles, lowering triglycerides and non-HDL cholesterol.
